COALITION ON HOMELESSNESS

& HOUSING IN OHIO

COHHIO is a coalition of organizations and individuals committed to ending homelessness and to promoting decent, safe, fair, affordable housing for all—with a focus on assisting low-income and special needs populations.

The Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO) Youth Housing Initiative program recognized that there was need for a common place where youth and young adults can find information and resources while navigating life. This is where the idea for Taking Charge was born.

In our current phase, Taking Charge is an online FAQ to help youth learn about their rights and responsibilities in the simplest terms possible. Having to tackle the complexities of adulthood is complicated enough; Taking Charge is about equipping youth and young adults with the information they need to move with confidence through adulthood. And because youth reviewed the language and gave guidance on how to relay in the information—it is very much youth informed.

As Taking Charge continues to evolve (and it will!), future phases will roll out. It is an initiative that will continue expanding and incorporating interactive features. This site will be a space where youth and young adults can communicate about what is happening in their community and provide real-time feedback to COHHIO’s Youth Housing Initiative program.

KEEP INFORMED AS NEW FEATURES & INFORMATION ARE ADDED.
